I just happen to notice when I pulled a yellow rose yesterday it had lots of little green gnat looking bugs and could fly then there were quite a few tiny black flies, and then some teeny little things that crawled and they were brownish and if I wouldn't have looked close I would have never seen those they were that small!! Im starting to get some little green worms/catepillars not sure what they are on my catnip and sunflowers I do organic gardening so I just hose them away but they all find their little way back. :)

Well, I haven't had too much trouble with bugs in flowers besides Mullein and Nettles.... usually if there's lots of critters, I gather them then let them air out on paper for a couple hours, often the bugs will vacate on their own. How little are your bugs?

Kiva,
Everyone talks about eating flower buds but everytime I pick mine there are little bugs in them, what is the best way to prep different types of edible flowers (calendula, candytuft, rose) to add to salads without all the critters and without making them soggy from a soak down?
