Hello, Today I was biking on the Canal in Princeton and saw some nettle seeds..quite green and pinched me off a little and ate them..My tongue still has a little sting to it and I felt as though the nettle seeds got stuck in my throat..No hear racing or anything like that, though..
I do love those nettles....

Well, yes and no. I'm very familiar with the effects of amphetamines, having been addicted to them myself. Personally, I would never hand out stimulants in any form just because they're a natural alternative to a desired chemical. The other part of the story is that Nettle seeds don't effect everyone like that anyway, it seems pretty specific to adrenally depleted people.

You'll probably want to read the rest of my posts on nettle seed as there's been several since this one.

By wood nettle are you referring to an urtica spp. or a lamium?

Thanks for sharing your experiences! While you may have been caught off guard by the effects of the fresh seeds, it sounds like they might be a promising alternative to people who would otherwise be prescribed amphetamines by their doctors. Amphetamines can feel nice at first, but they ultimately drain a person and leave them in a worse state of health than they started (though maybe they got a degree and a raise in the process).. it sounds like nettle seed could be great medicine for many people!

Do you have any clue if Wood Nettle seeds are similarly useful? This is the only type I found in my area.. the seeds look much bigger.

sara jane, I have definitely recommended ~small~ doses of the seeds in most of my nettle seed posts, generally only when dried. In fact, I suggest that everyone start out with a very small dose of any new herb.

hello there now to add on to your experiences i had quite a buzz and palpatations off nettle seed. I was certainly up ALL night . Awake and alive.

I wonder if mine were not dried out enough. or or. I think perhaps i am slightly hyper therefore . I feel it was almost an adrenalin rush i was experiencing. I had drunk the tea and dipped my fingers. So possibly start on a low dosage .

loving your pictures thanking you x
