For fresh plants, I use a 1:2 ratio. In practical terms this means I roughly chop the Nettles and fill the jar with them and then fill the jar again with Everclear. You can use vodka or brandy too of course.

How much nettles to how much alcohol for tincturing the fresh plant, by the way?

i’ll attest to the wondermous deliciousness of that nettles soup recipie! It’s fabulous!
